Title: Let Knowledge Be Your SuperPower in Your Rehabilitation Journey
From childhood, I've been told that "knowledge is power," a saying deeply ingrained in my mind. But as I got older and gained some life experience, I realized that while knowledge holds power; applied knowledge can become a superpower. In terms of rehabilitation, knowledge is the foundation upon which a successful rehabilitation journey to recovery is built, applied knowledge is the crucial steps one must take to get postive results on your rehabilitation journey. Two questions that can assist us to understand some of the key concepts related to knowledge as power are:
What Causes Power Loss?
Complexity, opposing views, and overwhelm.
Not taking action, which leads to a lack of results.
What Leads to Power Gain?
Having knowledge (insight) on aspects that can influence and improve your health.
Knowing how to implement and apply this knowledge effectively.
Getting Results:
Start by understanding the concept you are investigating, in this case, HEALTH.
Know what health is and why a holistic view can help you (what you should include in a program that can improve your results and what lesser-known aspects of health can prevent results).
Know your health condition and what is possible for you (that is the only way you can be realistic).
Understand the rehabilitation process and where you are in the process so that you can take the right steps at the right time for prevention and progress.
Be knowledgeable about the process of goal setting, planning, and taking action.
Understand yourself and how you function (that is the only way to have continued success; you have to be able to make it a lifestyle or habit, and that can only happen if you know your preferences, time availability, and motivations).
These are the fundamental aspects of knowledge that you need to succeed on our health journey.
For some, this may be enough, and once you understand all of these concepts, you can continue with your rehabilitation process and be successful.
